Inner Support, Outer Support
“The best way to get rid of the pain is to feel the pain. And when you feel the pain and go beyond it, you’ll see there’s a very intense love that is wanting to awaken itself.”
– Deepak Chopra
What kind of support do you need right now? It’s a delicate question, I know.
Are you currently facing a challenging situation and not quite sure how to see yourself through to the other side? What support could help you get there?
Is your struggle internal, with an ongoing battle between what you really want to do, but don’t do despite your deep desire? How could a little support change that for you?
Or maybe you just have too much on your plate and you need some hands-on support to lighten your load. What does that look like?
It’s not some sort of defeat to ask for support. It’s a sign of strength.
Whether you need a listening ear, a helping hand, or a mentor to help you tune into your inner guidance, seeking outside support is a gift to yourself.
If there is something that is irking you, whether it be within yourself or your situation, noticing and addressing it so that you can move through it is a healthy path forward.
As Deepak Chopra’s quote says, “there’s a love that is wanting to awaken itself.” And in that love, is a connection to yourself that will overflow into other parts of your life.
Some Examples of Asking For Support
Take the last few sophrology clients I’ve had the honour of accompanying: one was putting pressure on herself to “do everything right” in her pregnancy, another was concerned by her tendency to compensate her feelings of exhaustion with food while yet another was having difficulty balancing her own needs with her family life. All three were managing to live their lives, but there was this extra grain of sand rubbing their existence raw. Nothing earth-shattering, but enough to want to seek out some sophrology sessions to work through it.
I designed bespoke sophrology programs for each person, based on their needs and objective. Every one of them came to their own conclusions, recognizing their values, potential and resources along the way. And each of them went through a transformation and reached their objectives, in the knowledge that they’re equipped to deal with anything life may throw at them.
They learned how to see things objectively and how to let go.
Developping their adaptability, self-compassion and own liberty, they came out of their accompaniment stronger and kinder.
Yes, I was there to listen and take them through their program, but they did the real work. Our regular sophrology sessions gave them the support and context they needed to work through their particular situations and come out the other side transformed.
So I ask you again.
What support do you need right now? Is there something someone else can do for you?
I’m here if you need me.
