We know that good sleep is important for our physical and mental well-being.

It helps to restore and repair muscles and bones, replenish our energy reserves, strengthen our nervous system, and boost our immune system (and mood!). And yet, a good percentage of the population isn’t sleeping well, leaving many with concentration issues, fatigue, mood swings, weight gain, and a weakened immune system.

Hi! I'm Marianne, certified sophrologist RNCP

I first came to know about sophrology when I moved to France in 2009. Coming from Canada, I had never heard of this wellness technique before, but it had me intrigued because I saw that it was so popular here in France!

When I came close to a major burnout in my last job (complete with my first-ever panic attacks), I started seeing a sophrologist to see if it would help me get back on track. In just a few sessions, I was able to manage my stress, let go of the pressure I was putting on myself and feel better in my life as a whole.

When I left my last job, I felt called to become a certified sophrologist at the Institut de Formation Ć  la Sophrologie (Paris) in order to bring this powerful technique to the English-speaking world.

I’d love to share this technique with you so that you can experience first-hand the benefits of sophrology!

By letting go of whatā€™s holding you back, you can discover your own resources and build your self-confidence, knowing that you are aligned with your true values.

In doing so, you can embrace everything life has to offer. (And who doesnā€™t want that?)

What happens in a group sophrology session?

Each sophrology session follows the same format:

  • A brief time for talking
  • 3-4 Dynamic Relaxation exercises (standing or seated)
  • 1 Guided Positive Visualisation (seated or lying down)
  • A brief time for talking and sharing realizations or aha moments from the session
How long does each session last?

Each weekly session lasts 60-75 minutes.

Is sophrology a therapy?

Sophrology does not replace any medical or psychotherapeutic treatment.

If you are working with a medical professional, sophrology can be a wonderful complementary practice, but is better suited to 1:1 individual sessions.

What do I need to prepare for each session?

You can come as you are to your group sophrology session. You will need:

  • A calm space with enough room to safely reach overhead and out to the sides.
  • A reliable internet connection.
  • A chair for some exercises.
  • A potentional space for lying down.*

*During the guided visualisations, you have the choice of sitting or lying down. You can prepare a yoga mat or mattress, if you choose to lie down.

Do I need to practise between sessions?

Yes, there is a bit of homework!

After each session, I will send you the instructions and audio recording for the exercises we did together. You will choose a time of day to practise on your own as regularly as possible.

Sophrology is like physical exercise; the more you practise, the stronger you become.

How much time do I need to practise between sessions?

The exercises take no more than a few minutes to do each day.

You can choose a time of day that works for you – just after getting up, during your lunch break or just before bed, for example – and do as many exercises as you like. The more you do, the better! šŸ™‚

Is there a lot of writing involved?

If you feel it’s useful to you, you might want to write down your feelings and aha moments from each session, but it’s by no means necessary.

I live in a different time zone. What are my options?

I have set the classes at 6:30pm (18:00) Paris time. You can convert to your time zone here.

If the time doesn’t work for you, please feel free to reach out and let me know. I’m willing to set up two groups per sessions to accomodate Europe/Americas and Oceania.

Do you offer refunds?

In signing up for this program, you are making a commitment to following through and showing up for our sessions together. No refunds will be given for any missed sessions.

If you choose to drop out, I can refund you for the remaining sessions.
